Grape Seed is very rich in bioflavonoids. It contains catechin, epicatechin, galat and many monomeric phenolic compounds such as dimeric, trimeric and tetrameric procyanidine. It is a popular supplementary because catechin and procyanidine have benefits on health and it contains iron, potassium, magnesium, B vitamins. Grape seed contains 92–95% of OPC (Oligomeric Proanthocyanidin). The most important characteristic of grape seed is that it is a strong antioxidant. It is 20-fold stronger than vitamin C, which is most famous antioxidant, and 50-fold stronger than vitamin E. It neutralizes the hazardous effects caused by chemical reactions in the body or come from outside such as cigarette, alcohol, polluted air (free radicals) by means of its antioxidant characteristic. Antioxidants are also effective anti-aging tools. Diseases may be prevented and aging may be delayed by antioxidants. Hormonal balance may be protected.
